WOW: Virat Kohli beats Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone to become the Most Valued Celebrity Brand

The brand value of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is around USD 144 million to his credit, and he has beaten Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika and become the most valued celebrity brand in India.


According to the reports, “Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has dethroned Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to become the most valuable celebrity brand in the country, with a brand value of USD 144 million registering a growth of 56 percent from last year.”


The reports presently say that Shah Rukh Khan has come down on the second position whereas, Deepika Padukone is in the third position of USD 103 million and USD 93 million respectively.


Kohli’s brand value grew 56 percent compared to last year, while Khan lost the top post for the first time, according to a report by Duff & Phelps released on Wednesday.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone endorse 21 and 23 brands whereas, Virat Kohli being a cricketer endorses 20 brands which is a big thing.


On the other hand, Akshay Kumar has added seven new products to his portfolio which takes it to 97 percent to reach USD 47 million in 2017.


Former Captain of Indian Cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni is also listed under the top 15 list of the persons who has made his brand value to the 13th position of USD 21 million. And, the other sports personality Ace shuttler PV Sindhu who occupies the 15th position with a brand valuation of USD 15 million.


If we look and calculate the brand value, then it comes to a total of USD 712 million, out of which around 25 percent contribution is of the sports personalities. While Bollywood celebrities continue to dominate the top 15, sportspersons are giving tough competition like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Sindhu, collectively valued at USD 180 million, account for nearly a quarter of the overall celebrity brand value of the top 15, Duff & Phelps director Aviral Jain said.


The best win for Virat Kohli is given by the Forbes recently, as he has been ranked above Lionel Messi as one of the most valuable sports brand personality in the World.
