The much awaited Nokia 8 phone from Nokia has been revealed in London. This is the smart phone Nokia has been keeping high hopes with; HMD global has officially announced the phone in London. The smartphone is the first of the range which has been manufactured and developed under the partnership of Carl Zeiss had been announced earlier this month. As a result, the big talking point of this Smartphone is the camera of the phone. It has got 13MP dual camera sensors at the back and a single shooter on the front.
Nokia 8 will be launched globally in September – this will be priced equally to the Euros which will be around 45,000. A HMD global spokesperson told us that the phone will be launched in India during early October, price of the device will be known closer to the date of launch.
Unibody design of the phone is made out of a series of aluminium which is some 6000. This will be available in glossy polished copper and polished blue colours, as well as blue and steel finishes. The Nokia 8 will be rated as IP54. That means it is splash proof.
It does capture still images from both the rear camera sensors at same time but what it also does is that it merges the two pictures into a single image. Camera app on the phone will let you stream both the cameras at the same time. As a full HD- live videos to Facebook and YouTube. The company says that they have very closely worked on the processing bit with Qualcomm to integrate the dual vision video streaming bit on this Smartphone.
Nokia 8 has a 5.3 inch screen and 2K LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5 to protect it from damage. It has got a USB 3.1 Type-C connectivity. It was said earlier that the Nokia 8 will carry Android O out of the box, but the spokesperson confirmed that the company is at advanced stages of testing Android. As of now the phone will have Android 7.1.1.
